Yummy Oatmeal Cookies
Here is a recipe from The Feingold Program for Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.
They are very delicious and very easy.
1 C butter, softened
1 1/2 C packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 C flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 1/3 C rolled oats
6 oz chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Blend in flour, soda and salt. Add rolled oats and chocolate chips and stir until well combined. Drop well-rounded teaspoons of dough onto well-greased cookies sheets and bake 12 to 15 minutes. If you are baking more than one cookie sheet at a time, it is helpful to rotate the pans halfway through the cooking time. Makes about 5 dozen.

Cold weather buster
Today Rowan, Liam and I met Karen at the indoor playground nearby. We go there occasionally to expend some excess energy:). We stayed for about 4 hours and had lunch there as well. A great time was had by all. Good times.

Thoughts on baby jeans...
Baby jeans, while very cute, are not very practical-especially if you use cloth diapers.
But, check out these "Hammer don't hurt 'em" pants that I found at H&M. They have plenty of room in the bottom and legs-make diaper changes a breeze! These are a size 9-12 months (Liam usually wears a 9 months currently). A great find!

Liam's Growing
Our littlest boy is growing and changing so fast! It's so bittersweet. I'm really enjoying him as a baby. He is doing all sorts of new things-he's got two little tiny teeth in front, sitting up (although he plops over every once in a while), grabbing everything and he just figured out how to bounce in his Jumperoo (which I was very happy to find at Once Upon a Child!). He's so sweet and adores his older brother, Rowan. Life is good!

Thankful
I take for granted every day the health and safety of our beautiful children. There are no guarantees in life. Every single moment is precious. When I realize how blessed we are every day I am so humbled yet so sad for those parents and children who are suffering. I cannot wait for the day when there will be no suffering - especially among little children. God speed His Kingdom.

Homeschool
After 2 failed attempts to put Rowan into preschool we decided to stick with our original plan of homeschooling. This is what I new was right in my heart anyway, so I feel better about it. The only problem that I have with it is finding some time to myself. So, we have decided to hire a Nanny to help out 2 days a week. We think we have found someone, but she has not started yet. Not sure how this will work out, but we will see.
We are not studying anything per se until Rowan is older, but we are having some fun with a book called Picture Book Activities by Trish Kuffner. There are 50 books listed and 5 or 6 activities (baking, crafting, etc) included with each book listed that relate to the book. It's lots of fun and I know Rowan will learn alot from it. Of course we do regular crafting, baking, reading and learning every day anyway, but this is just a more organized form to help me out. This week we are reading "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day".
Lots of fun!

Much has happened since my last post...new baby, new house and more (but that's plenty). More to come.
