I am terrified by all of the suffering in the world. But what scares me the most is the horrible suffering of our most innocent-children.
Everywhere I look there are stories about miscarriages, SIDS, babies being shaken to death, childhood cancer, children being accidentally left to die in cars or backed over by their parents. I read a story on Facebook about a mother who went to check on her 4 month old and found him dead in his crib. I met two waitresses in the same restaurant who both had full-term stillborn babies. A couple in our church in Texas lost their 3 year old in car accident this past Saturday(distracted driver texting).
I struggle not to live in fear about how to keep my own children safe. I know that God wants me to be faithful.
My only comfort (and its a lot) is knowing that there is more than this and knowing that one day those parents will see their precious little ones again.

On my mind
Something that has been on my mind a lot lately has been keeping my kids safe in and around cars.
I am really passionate about car seat safety, so I am pursuing getting my Child Passenger Safety Technician certification. Then I would be able to help myself and other parents in my community insure that their children are buckled up safely. Here is the information on becoming a CPST http://www.safekids.org/safety-professionals/child-passenger-safety-technician.html.
According to the NHTSA, car accidents are the number one killer of children age 3 to 14. And according to an NHTSA, 3" out of 4 kids are not as secure in the car as they should be because their car seats are not being used correctly".
